Let Me Predict What Obamacare Will Do To You in the Future

The Man Who Can Fix it All?
Where is my free health care?
Well, it is happening, two weeks after President Obama signed the Health Care bill into law people are starting to wonder where their free health care is at. Hospitals, doctors' offices, insurance companies, and human resource departments are being bombarded with questions about where they can find the free Obamacare and where do they go to sign up for it. Many potential health care consumers are calling insurance companies expecting that rates would now be magically cheaper and affordable.
Adults with pre-existing conditions are becoming aware of the fact that the insurance companies do not have to insure them until 2014. These people are told about a federal high risk pool that will be up and running in the next few months.
College students are excited that they can stay on their parents health care plan until they are 26, it's just that, that provision doesn't take effect until September.
Business owners are very concerned about rising health care costs due to the new requirements being phased in. They don't know what to expect as far as mandates, fees, taxes, and coverage requirements are concerned. Obama has been touting a tax credit for small businesses that offer employees health care coverage but many small businesses won't be able to participate because they won't qualify for the credit.
One weird thing about this legislation is that Obama is traveling around the country explaining the highlights of this health care bill. The bill has been signed into law, what is the point of his appearances. He won't answer a direct question honestly and I doubt that anyone walks away knowing any more than they did after listening to the boring orator. In Charlotte, N.C., Joyce Ravis, asked the President, "in the economy times that we have now, is it a wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care, because it -- we are over-taxed as it is?" Obama gave the woman a 17 and a half minute answer that didn't even come close to answering the ladys' question.

What Obama Won't Tell You
This is really what President Obama is not telling you. The federal government is now in the health care business and it's real intentions are to drive the private insurers out of business. Obama will tell you that this isn't true, that there is no public option in the new legislation. He is right about that but he cannot be honest because if Americans knew the truth they would impeach this guy.
This isn't Medicare or Medicaid, this health care legislation is the beginning of the end for health insurance companies and the beginning of the largest entitlement program this country has ever seen. Tom Harkin, the Senator from Iowa said that this legislation was just a down payment. This health care law has created one hundred and fifty nine new committees and Senator Harkin promises that there is more to come. This is frightening because the governments' track record with medicare is scary. The federal government doesn't pay their portion of the bill in full to the health care providers, leaving private insurers and cash payers to pay higher costs for services rendered. A little known fact is that private insurers all ready pick up about nine percent of unpaid medicare bills. This is the equivalent to paying protection money to the mob. Because of this, insurance companies have to charge higher premiums to their policy holders instead of a lesser rate. This is also the same as a stealth tax from the federal government.
Obama is stumping across the country railing against private insurers and how they deny claims or that they drop your coverage just when you need it. What Obama fails to tell you is that Medicare is the nations number one denier of claims. That's right, Medicare is twice as likely to deny a claim than a private insurance company. This could be a very good reason why The President, all of the congress and their staffers, and federal workers have there own separate health care plan. These fraudulent legislators would never consider putting themselves on the same plan that we are all on. Don't forget that they are feathering their nest with your hard earned money.
This newly passed bill is fraught with unintended consequences. Private insurers will be forced to take on customers that have pre-existing conditions with no additional risk premium. The insurer won't be able to give any consideration to the clients health, they will have to take on these new risks. So if you get sick and you don't have health insurance in 2014, a person will be able to call up an insurer and the insurer will have to cover the sick individual. This is like getting into a car accident and not having auto insurance. The at fault driver can just call up the insurance company and get insured and the insurance company will have to have the car fixed or replaced. This is also like expecting your auto insurer to cover your oil changes, wiper blades, cleaning, engine repair, tires, etc., and not charge you additional premiums for the extra coverage.
Another way to look at this insanity is, what if your house burnt down and you didn't have fire insurance. You call up the insurance company to insure your house and they ask you the condition of your house. You tell them, "it's burnt to a crisp". Should the insurance company be responsible to rebuild your house? How about if you call up a life insurance company and tell them that you need a policy on your husband for three million dollars. The insurance company then asks the age of your husband. You tell the insurance company that he died yesterday. Do you really expect the insurance company to issue you a policy. This is exactly what our government is forcing our health insurers to do. It makes no sense whatsoever!
When you ask the evil insurance companies to automatically insure someone after the fact of their illness you are asking these companies to become unprofitable. There is no way that these companies can stay in business. But to the government types like Barack Obama, this is very good news because he doesn't want the evil insurers to be in business. In about four or five years there will be very few private health insurers because the government regulations say that these insurers have to take all comers and that they can't limit anything. So the unintended (intended), consequence of this bill will be that everyone will be insured by the government. The very wealthy will still be able to afford their healthcare but everyone else will have universal care which will result in long waiting lists and long lines.
Another unintended (intended), consequence is that Doctors will now have to take set payments that are mandated by the federal government. Doctors have large loans that they need to pay off. They also have high mal practice insurance costs that they must pay as well. So a doctor will have to make a choice to work in the government system or to work for those who can afford to pay what ever their health care costs. The goverment will not allow the doctor to do both. So the doctor is left with a market based choice and this will cause more doctors to leave the public system therefore causing many disruptions in the governments health delivery system.
Lots of Lying Going On Somewhere
This 2700 page legislation is also going to tax medical innovation. Companies that make medical devices are going to get penalized and taxed under this law. Pharmaceutical companies are also going to take a hard hit. These two things may sound good because they are popular and the politicians have demonized these industries but the unintended consequence of this bill is the fact that prices are going up. Corporations really don't pay taxes, the end user does. How many people do you know that take medication or have a stint in them? Because of these higher prices it will cause innovation to decline and the quality of health care to deteriorate.
We have had incredible advances in pharmaceuticals and medical innovation because the incentive is there to make these products. With these taxes and penalties the incentive is being taken away along with the money needed for research and development. The money instead is going to the government because the politicians think they know best how to spend your money.
Something else President Obama would rather you not know is that tax payer funded abortion is covered in this bill. Obama promised that he would sign an executive order that would eliminate federally funded abortions. He did sign the executive order but an executive order does not over ride the law. So in essence Obama was lying to the American public. Bart Stupak either knew this or he didn't. If he did know this, which I think that he did, he should no longer be in Congress. Stupak lied to his constituents and to America.
Is health care a right? Can you define health care? Where does health care begin? Where does health care stop? These are tough questions, but they can be dealt with in a reasonable fashion. Access to health care and the cost of health care can be addressed as well. But our politicians in Washington are not being reasonable. They are playing games and they are passing legislation that will strip liberty and privacy away from each and every American. With the governments wreckless spending and wasteful programs they are not only going to destroy health care, they are going to destroy the whole economy. The standard of living has peaked and going forward America will be in decline because of the deliberate actions of these arrogant politicians.
I don't want to see anybody suffer. There should be a program that takes care of people that have terrible illnesses. However, we are only talking about one percent of the population. We can afford a program to care for these sick people. But until cost issues like tort reform, fraud in medicare, government regulations, and malpractice insurance are addressed the system will crash. These are tough issues that the legislators don't want to tackle. Politicians only want to kick the can down the road. They are only interested in power and spending your money to keep their elected seat. Somebody needs to step up and lead America to a healthier place.

Any bill that adds 16,000 tax collector and not 1 doctor or nurse is not a bill about health. Great Hub.
